Indigo Winter Saffron Spring is a dyed and hand painted tapestry, made using natural paints made using indigo and madder root. This piece was made to highlight and navigate the complexities of dual identity, feeling both enriched and fragmented by two distinct cultures, for me being American and Indian. Inspired by the intricate weaves of Indian textiles and the bold imagery of traditional American tattoos, I draw upon these forms to craft narratives that connect past and present. I invite viewers to reflect on their own experiences of identity, fostering an appreciation for the shared humanity that unites us across borders.
